How to Fix the Issue When the Cursor Keeps Moving to the Corner

Modified on Fri, 17 Jul at 6:36 PM

If your pen cursor suddenly jumps to a corner of the screen or behaves uncontrollably, it's usually caused by driver conflicts, incorrect workspace settings, electromagnetic interference, or USB/hardware issues. Before assuming the tablet is defective, please follow the troubleshooting steps below.

  1. Reinstall the Driver Completely
Driver conflicts are the most common cause of erratic cursor movement.
    Steps:
    1. Uninstall your current GAOMON driver.
    2. Check if tablet drivers from other brands are installed. If so, uninstall them as well.
    3. After uninstalling, manually delete residual folders and files from all removed drivers. Residual files can still interfere with your tablet even after uninstalling.
      For Windows, go to:
      • C:\
      • C:\Program Files
      • C:\Program Files (x86)
    4. Restart your computer.
    5. Download and install the latest GAOMON driver from the official site: https://download.gaomon.net/.
  2. Confirm the Working Area Settings
Incorrect screen mapping can cause the cursor to snap to a corner.
    Check the following:
    1. Open the GAOMON driver panel.
    2. Ensure the Working Area is set to Fullscreen.
    3. If you use multiple monitors on extended display mode, verify that the tablet is mapped to the correct display.
  3. Remove Electromagnetic Interference
Graphic tablets are sensitive to nearby electronic devices that generate electromagnetic noise. Move unnecessary electronics away from the tablet and test again.
    Avoid placing your tablet near:
    1. Power adapters or chargers
    2. Laptops (especially directly underneath the tablet)
    3. Keyboards
    4. Wireless chargers
    5. Speakers or other high‑EMI devices
  4. Test a Different USB Port
A faulty or unstable USB port can cause signal loss and erratic cursor behavior.
    Try:
    1. Plugging the tablet into another USB port
    2. Avoiding USB hubs or extension cables
    3. Using a USB port directly on the computer
  5. Try a Different USB Cable
If you have a spare cable, test with another cable (data cable) to rule out damage or instability.
  6. Test the Tablet on Another Computer
This helps determine whether the issue is software‑related or hardware‑related.
    • If the problem disappears on another computer, the issue is likely caused by drivers or settings on the original device.
    • If the problem persists, the tablet may require further inspection or replacement.
